RFL Issue Full Bradford Bulls Statement
Bradford Bulls Wednesday 4 Jul 2012 3:33pm
The RFL has today expressed its optimism about the future of Bradford Bulls following continued interest from the business community and supporters in taking the Super League club out of administration.
RFL Director of Standards and Licensing Blake Solly said: “We have been contacted by a number of groups who have expressed a desire to take Bradford Bulls forward and will forward on full details to the administrator.
“We are also aware that the administrator has received other bids and whilst there remains a great deal of uncertainty, we are optimistic about the future.
“It is clear that Bradford Bulls is seen as a viable proposition by many would-be new owners and we continue to be hopeful that Bradford Bulls will emerge from this insolvency event.”
The RFL has confirmed with the administrator of Bradford Bulls that he is doing all in his powers to ensure the club’s Stobart Super League Round 20 fixture against London Broncos goes ahead as scheduled at Odsal Stadium on Sunday.
The governing body remains in open dialogue with the administrator, its newly-appointed Interim Chief Executive and players and will continue to provide what practical support it can.
The RFL will meet the Super League clubs on Friday when it will update representatives on the changing situation at Bradford Bulls.
Solly added: “Friday’s meeting is an opportunity for the RFL to outline the many options available based on the current situation at Bradford and for the governing body to consult with the clubs.
“It is certainly not a meeting to determine Bradford Bulls’ future membership of the RFL or participation in Super League: those decisions will be taken by the RFL Board in due course once the issues surrounding the ownership of Bradford Bulls become clearer.”
The RFL has organised through its Player Welfare Financial Partners, Yorkshire Bank a series of workshops and one-to-one interview sessions with Bradford Bulls players for confidential financial advice on the issues raised by the ongoing uncertainty over the club’s future.
Sporting Chance have also made available their counselling service to any Bradford players seeking assistance as a result of the problems at the club.
