Moors commits his future to Cas

Moors commits his future to Cas

Friday 14 Oct 2016 5:48pm
Castleford Tigers can confirm that Junior Moors has signed a two year contract extension, keeping him with the Tigers until at least the end of the 2019 season.

The Samoan international has quickly become a fans favourite with his brand of hard running and strong tackling.

Moors hit his straps towards the back end of the 2015 season and become one of the most disruptive forces in Super League during 2016.

Moors joined the Tigers ahead of the 2015 season from NRL side, Melbourne Storm. The 30-year old played over 50 NRL games for West Tigers, Penrith Panthers and Melbourne since making his debut in 2007.

He’s certainly a favourite with fans and team mates alike at the Tigers, sweeping the board at the clubs 2016 presentation evening picking up the Fans Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards just a few weeks ago.

Junior is currently enjoying a well earned break with his family but can’t wait for the new season to begin:

“I’m really happy to have extended my deal with Cas. My family and I are really settled here and I love playing with these boys. 2017 will be a big season for us and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Tigers Head Coach Daryl Powell is over the moon to secure Junior’s future with the Tigers:

“I'm delighted that Junior has agreed to extend his contract with the club. After a slow start in 2015 he had an enormous 2016, being one of the best forwards in Super League. His ball carry and his ability with his skill as a forward gives us an extra dimension in our game. I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and we will see the very best of Junior Moors in the next few years.”
