Cas v widnes
Daryl Powell has named his 19-man squad for the First Utility Super League game against Widnes Vikings on Thursday 3rd July, kick-off 8pm.
Michael Channing is back in the squad following an injury layoff, at the expense of last weekend's hero Jake Webster. Oliver Holmes also returns, with Frankie Mariano dropping out this time.
Castleford Tigers 19-man squad vs Widnes Vikings:
2. Kirk Dixon
3. Michael Shenton
5. Justin Carney
6. Luke Dorn
7. Marc Sneyd
8. Andy Lynch
9. Adam Milner
10. Craig Huby
11. Grant Millington
12. Weller Hauraki
13. Nathan Massey
14. Daryl Clark
16. Oliver Holmes
19. Scott Wheeldon
20. Jamie Ellis
23. Michael Channing
26. Liam Finn
32. Lee Jewitt
35. Garreth Carvell

Improvements needed by both sides, we seem to have lost some bulk with Webster & Mariano dropping out but it's still a strong side IMO. All being well we can get the 2 & keep top 6 pace.

RE: Cas v widnes
Widnes win is how I see it. I can see Cas capitulating a bit, over the next few. With a string of players not wanting to stay at the club even when they're doing well is not a good sign. Huby not taking the two year extension instead going to Shudds, Clark's not commited himself as of yet is hardly a startling vote of confidence and the player that Cas wrangled from Salford in the Chase deal has decided to pen a deal with Ull. Nevermind getting rid of the dead wood, that's all you're going to have left.

RE: Cas v widnes
Hubes has been replaced, Sneyd though decent for us is replaceable, Clark is the tricky one though he is still on a good contract so the money will be there if he does go. The rest of the squad has been strong so far this season.

RE: Cas v widnes
So you're not worried that your 'replaceable' half back signed for someone else? Huby turned you down but has been replaced by Carvell? like for like....except Huby is a big part of your go forward epecially this season. Clark goes you don't make the 8 IMO (next year I mean). hookers like him aren't replaceable. Seem slike players aren't buying in to Cas being a competative club.

RE: Cas v widnes
Not worried about Sneyd, obviously like to have kept him but not at 100k price tag, you thinking he's irreplaceable? Huby owes us nowt, he's not turned owt down we've had his best yrs & he's moving on for a last payday, carvell has been quality from what I've seen. Clark as said is the 1 of concern but if the coin is there then so is the replacement. Many had us in the dog fight this yr & without chase we weren't making the 8, not turned out bad so far. Not sure how much is players not buying into the club being competitive & how much is price tag stuff tbf.

RE: Cas v widnes
Cas have said they will make more signings.

Clark going will give milner a chance again, who is decent imo.

RE: Cas v widnes
Not heard owt since last time but with Joel monnas moving on they'll need a decent 9 & have a pretty big salary cap space, hope 2+2=5 in this case.

RE: Cas v widnes
Hope he stays at Cas but the rumours been that strong for that long you can't help feel that there's some truth behind it.
