But he clearly isn't. When compared to other sides utility and squad players like Graeme Horne he pales in comparison. Him and Netherton are trundlers in the other division, Netherton never was SL class and Murrell just seems like a fat and lazy dollop who makes no impact. Three good games at the back end of a season does not justify a place.

He is an average SL player and the likes of Wakefield and Salford have/are littered with them. I put SM in that bracket. But he does give you 80 minutes and he plays with heart; I'll give him that much...

Not questioning his dedication, the lad just isn't good enough. The likes of Horne are the standard bearers for your squad. Horne is a good quality utilty player, he isn't a world beater but he will do a job well. The standard we have with Murrell and Netherton et al is our middle park game dies immediately.
I think we are at a point where players like them should be shown the door, we should be pushing up the league not consolidating 8th place. |
