RE: The year of the wire!
Ratchford at centre to replace King, move Bridge to 13 as mentioned, have J.Monaghan, Atkins and Riley as the othe backs...... then move Ratchford into fullback when Hodgson retires possibly?
So that would be say 2013... which would mean Rhys Evans potentially becoming a first choice centre.. be around 20-21 years old then. By that time I imagine Morley and Briers will have retired, so be splashing out to replace them... plus question marks over the likes of Solomona and M.Monaghan. See quite a few changes of key personnel over the next 2-3 years. |

RE: The year of the wire!
spot on ron.think hill will eventually be morleys replacement.and we do have some very good talent in the under 20s.so hoping smith gives them a chance which am sure he will.i dont see us signing any big name aussies in the near future due to there salary cap being alot higher.also not sure how good waterhouse is.

RE: The year of the wire!
I agree in regards to signing quality Aussies, I don't think we are going to see many more quality imports such as King, Monaghan, Buderus, Hoffman, Lima, Finch etc that have occurred recently, with their salary cap doubling.
So I presume more Wire investment will be going into young british talent, and developing the academy, as we have seen with the likes of Ratchford, Hill and Myler in recent year, also with the 20s getting to the final looks like the academy is coming along nicely. Not sure how Waterhouse will go, depends on how motivated he is I suppose, is a quality players without doubt, very good offloader and will add size to our team, shame he isn't 2-3 years younger, |

RE: The year of the wire!
I think he has the skill set to play there, how good he would be I don't know... Thats why I thought h would play in the centres for a few years, and watch Hodgson play in the role, and take over eventually.
Not sure though, just speculating. |
