Yeah, the wind was playing havoc for both teams from what I saw. What did you think of the game overall?

Sorry for the late reply (spent sunday nursing a hang over)

I thought over all was an exciting game. The final scoreline made Saints look like the better team but Widnes did have an edge on us. But i said to my brother at the time, the last 15 mins the difference will come through and we'll get the win. Which happened. Could be an interesting season.

I thought it was very error strewn from a Saints POV. We bombed a lot of chances and the players looked lazy both going into tackles and coming onto the ball. As you said, Widnes did seem to have the edge on us for the majority, but that is to be expected: it was our first hit out of the year, Widnes had played 3/4 games prior to playing us. I thought Jamie foster had an awful awful game (kicking aside) both in attack and defence. He overran the ball numerous times and was extremely lazy in defence. Hopefully he'll improve in time for when we play Broncos. Having said that, he wasn't the only player who needs to improve but at least we came away with the spoils. I thought Sia had a very good game, some of his hits were real bone crunchers. Hohaia looked good, as did Lee Gaskell. Will be interesting to see how Lomax and Hohaia gel as the season progresses.

P.S. we miss Jammer!

Yeh H8, i was sitting there saying to myself we need Jammer to come on and lead the line. There was no out and out leader for saints. Lomax didnt have the best match. Foster also but he did get 100% conversion rate so that let him off. There was to many channels for widnes to run through, just ripped us open on them first two tries.
