Golding Edwards and Gavet confined signings so far.
Sezer to be announced soon now the loan deal for Ikahihifo to Salford is sorted.
Not a bad lot on paper - but that means little.
According to the bookies we are still going to be in the relegation mix next year- but I think not. Although neither do I think we will get in the playoffs. Just comfortably out of the mix. Salford will struggle without Hastings- and they have had a clear out of players- so the team spirit will be less so. KR have changed half their squad but not recruited well IMO.
Toronto have yet to announce a single signing. The team that was promoted isn’t good enough to stay as is and be competitive and a bunch of mercenaries so t gave the tenaciousness of London. And SBW won’t be enough. Wakefield will be down near the bottom but not relegated unless they have another injury crisis.
I also have an inkling Castleford will be mid table next year.
Hull have recruited well. The 3 usual suspects will be in the mix for playoffs leaving just one other spot.

Stopped watching NRL in recent years, hope our club have done their homework and looked at Gavet's defence, and is why I'm not that fussed Sebastine has moved on.Our middle's so called goal line d last season was nothing less than pathetic.

Shame about Leeming, can be a bit inconsistent, but on his good day's a real threat.

Golding, omg,I never rated him for Leeds, was glad when he was named as fb on their team sheet. Now I will back him all the way if the club think it is a good signing.
Darnell looks like he is going to be shoved out onto the wing.Think he's better than that, but not the biggest so maybe always q's on his d.

We'll go our usual mid/lower table as it's obvious some players start grabbing on defence mid season, abit galling for a fan but suppose you can't blame them for that - looking after their bodies in the longer term.

RE: 2020
Sezer finally confirmed.
Also rumours we are looking at Danny Levi.
Whatever, we have just two specialist hookers on our books- and a reserve team to run so need another- our excellent third year Academy lad jack Flynn has decided to quit RL for Uni. I’m gutted as I’ve watched him since scholarship and he was a great player. We did have another really good hooker who was best mates with Ronan Costello He really struggled after he died and then Not long after he he got a really serious facial injury and he also quit. No one else of note ready to step up so another Hooker is crucial.

It's vital we do recruit another Leeming type 9.Recent history has shown we need a 'quick on his feet' 9 out of dummy half to get us rolling forward. After Eorl retired and Kopczak moved on,the replacement props since have struggled to get over the ad line one pass off the ruck.

All hail Sezer - but no NRL viewing for me recently so can't really comment.

Actually regarding our squad for 2020 it's not looking too bad at all. Hoping the signings of the 'King' and the 'Enforcer' might bring the best out of Matagi, who seemed to find it tough last time imho.

Uate, needs to show the fans just why the club went out and recruited him.

Then the dependables like Clough,Murphy,Ukuma,Joe and the youth of Wilson,English to back up the 'star' names, suddenly starting to think just might be pushing for top 4.

O'Brien should not be underrated as a 9,solid d is a given, more consistent than athlete Leeming who was very hot and cold in terms of his effort on some occasions,no doubt Leeming could get inspired playing in front of a big enthusiastic crowds could be his making, unlike at Huddersfield
the birthplace LOL. Surprised that it was reported that only Leeds moved in for Leeming, then again Hetherington has previous barely keeping himself in a Leeds job on the back of signing Huddersfield players and coaches.

Anyway 2 weeks in Runaway Bay coming up for me, nice relaxation period building up to the start of HGRLFC SL in February.

RE: 2020
Our first run out against Fax looked promising. Sezer showing his class and his leadership. Turner looked really solid- he’s put on sone good size, Lawrence really strong- and stepping- we’d forgotten he could do that! youngsters also did well- I’m glad Jordan paga got a chance- his try was superb. My lads coach is a scout and kept pushing for Jordan but he wasn’t given a scholarship initially as everyone said he was too small and slight. He finally got into the academy as a latecomer- showed why last week.
Still to see Edwards and Gavet- hopefully against wakey next week- hopefully get to see our expected half back pair on the field together too as sezer will be great organising whilst gaskell takes on the line.

RE: 2020
Good start to the campaign. A comprehensive win against Catalan in France. Difficult place to go and get the points.

Only down side is James Maloney will probably cop a ban for his off the ball strike on O’Brien. And they play wakey next week.

Yeah- he’s looked good in the friendlies- has a big voice on the pitch and has come to lead- very different leading style to Brough though which the rest seem to have taken to very positively. Gaskell will thrive under him. He’s got a great left foot- but it looks like woolford is mixing things up with turner, Darnell, gaskell, Young wardle and even Clough putting in attacking kicks so not everything is going through sezer.
I think the English game suits him. Certainly think Canberra messed up swapping him for Williams- just got to keep him fit!!!
