Wow - the way we played last night just totally committed,in total contrast to what was served up for most of last season.

Mensh in disps must go to O'Brien for his workrate on D,(Leeming is a natural born athlete but maybe we won't miss him quite as much as we thought) plus Lawrence starting to play the role of the classic loose man adding some ball handling and better go forward on top of the none stop D.With these two down the middle channel showing this commitment don't think we'll be conceding too many soft tries up the mid channels this time.

Sam Wood mighty impressive,a huge presence at left centre, great to see the progress of him,got to grips with the very dangerous Pauli when he came off the bench.

Very satisfying after last season, could go on,but will leave it at that. Salford are obviously a well coached team and might easy have won.

Early days but on this form could be challenging for a top 3 spot along with Wigan,FC,Cas,Salford and maybe Leeds but behind Wolves & Saints who I predict will be top two.

So much better than last season already.

Disagree about AOB- hes a very good player but he's not tough enough for me to do 80 minutes effectively. He’s no houghton, I think doing that all season will come back to bite us later. It was clear to see how he tired at the end of each half, he started falling off tackles and his passing was wayward- so much so sezer had a word with him about it!
Woody was again solid in defence- his effort to track back numerous times was excellent. Lawrence has certainly added to his game. The forwards have all stepped up. So much so Jerry looked poor at the side of them whereas he’s generally our best forward!
Last play options were poor-when we did the right thing it wasn’t done well- and the rumours sezer wasn’t 100% could be true as the lions share of the kicking was done by gaskell- and not particularly well executed!!!!
Still a game we would have lost last year.
Three times sio was denied by an individual piece of effort by different players, senior was targeted and stood up magnificently.
Darnell was the hero though!

Sezer's cover tackle on Sio probably was worth his MOM award, proves what quick feet can do after he originally went up and in on a misread, then again Gavet getting the finger tip to Tui's dg was really the match winner. Halfs last tackle kicking was too often straight down the throat.
Gazza just going to in goal kicks and repeats when the overlap looked on,must have been the game plan, probably the right call in this grim cold weather.
