really, any proof at all of that, i started going games through word of mouth, never seen a game on tele before i went

1.61 million is still more than 250,000 no matter how you look at it. If the BBC isn't for people who like sport then who watches the sports coverage on the BBC?

why dont you just change your name to gat and be done with it Sad

lets see, £20 a ticket or £30/£40 for sky, which is cheaper?Huh

30/40 quid a month, but then you get 8 games plus all the highlights on at a reasonable time!

RE: BBC
im not sure the game needs a higher profile at all. what it needs is a quality profile. sky provide the latter.

it would be better for rugby league to work hard to attract 350 or 400 thousand viewers for the super league games on sky at the weekend., that way, more coin can be demanded as it will be one of the jewels in skys sports crown. the bbc wont give more money no matter what, as the bulk of the population couldnt give a fuck and wont ever give a fuck about it.

get it all on sky and build a bigger profile on there. thereby building a bigger and more valuable reputation on a dedicated sports platform. that way lies more coin.

RE: BBC
I can understand why some people say let Sky have all of RL because they do treat it with respect and do a fantastic job of covering it,the programmes we get now from Sky which are RL related is second to none and I applaud them for doing a great job.

My other point is though not all people can afford Sky Sports and I know some of them who watch CC rugby when it's on the BBC.Now don't get me wrong the BBC treat our sport sometimes like a piece of crap but I believe it is important to have RL on terrestrial tele.

RE: BBC
no disrespect intended billie and its been mentioned before, but if folk out there cant afford 40 quid a month to get sky sports then what use r they to rugby league??

if they havent a spare tenner a week then maybe rugby league isnt for them?

no point them getting into the sport if they cant afford to go to games or buy merchandise or get sky sports etc. all sports need folk with disposable income not tightwads who want something for nothing.

I was going to rugby matches a long time before getting sky sports though, I know plenty of others who are season ticket holders but still don't have sky sports.
