RE: Lost against another top team because Briers isn't good enough....
Can't believe all the rubbish that's being written about Lee Briers. He's been the best Warrington player, consistently, since he came into the team.

OK so he has bad games now and again, but more often than not, he is the one person that can get the team going in the right direction. He's been a standout player for many seasons, and, yes, even against some of the best teams. Don't start sticking the boot in because we aren't playing as well as we can, and don't blame it on one player. Don't forget we have a long list of injuries too - Ratchford, Atkins, Myler, Harrison, Solomona, Monaghan, Evans. I didn't see anyone covering thereselves in glory in the South of France.

Now is the time to get behind the team and give them all your support, instead of grumbling about individuals. Briers was in the team that won the league last year, and you'll probably find he won more m-of-m than anyone else.Angry

The thing about briers is (similar to Paul cook) when he's in the right frame of mind he is a match winner.

the future's bright - the future is claret and gold.

Its a matter of opinion ron, you either rate him or you dont, bit like marmite

I don't hate him... just think his very overrated... If you actually watch him and compare him to other top players in his position, just comes up short.

His long kicking game is poor... short kicking is average... his a good passer, but he doesn't have the ability to break the line... coupled with poorr defence, if we rely on him performing its not a big surprise that we struggle in the big, tight games...

I wish Morley and Briers would have left end of last season, and with the cap space that created brought in anoother decent forward, and a quality half.

His kicking game is the best in SL on his day, yes he has poor days, most players do, to say his kicking game is average is quite frankly a joke. Saying that, i do think we have seen the best of him and his match winning days are fewer apart

On his day... is about 3 times a season, usually against crap teams.

No of course not.... Would have liked a qaulity Ausie half like Finch.

have to agree with ron.

briers does have good games, but they are once every 6 weeks, people then go into overdrive mentioning england blah blah blah...

if you want to win things, you want a half back that has consistency.
