RE: World Cup 2013 Semi / Final Venues Announced
ok i also have to laugh at the rfl for the wembley semi finals, why dont they just uses there common sense for once and have one semi final at sports direct arena (st james park) and one at elland road. i know they want to expand the game but taking it to newcastle is also achieving this even if they take it to the stadium of light now if you dont agree with me here is a few pro's which may change your mind.
1. newcastle has an international airport so foreign fans can travel in. 2. newcastle has plenty of hotels so enough places for fans to stop 3. newcastle has great shopping for the family before the game. 4. newcastle has a large stadium which could be filled with the correct marketing. 5. newcastle has a great night life. 5. even though its in the north east newcastle is centralised in a way with it being 2 hours away from cumbria and lancishire and parts of scotland and 1 hour away from yorkshire. so why is newcastle never taken into consideration for rugby league, yes we all know gateshead failed and they get poor crowd but this isnt championship 1 bottom of the league standard we are on about here, this is our sports best battleing it out if i can see the oppertunities why cant the rfl. my opinion is the same as garry schofield richard lewis has destoryed rugby league but with the right leadership in place and people who can spot good opportunities im sure rl will be back but i am afraid to say i think the world cup could be ruined by the wembley and cardiff and also the thormond park choices all too big of statdiums for even if i do hurt inside saying this our too small of a sport in the grand scheme of things. plus if your wondering i am from cumbria. well west cumbria to be exact so already the world cup has went down hill for me. every day's a gift and not a given right, leave no stone unturned and leave your fears behind.
