Monday Night Rugby
An empty girlfarm shows what fans think of monday night rugby, a real poor advert for SL.
Please don't use the England Euro game as an excuse, SL fans should support their game, or do we accept that SL is a second rate sport when compared to soccer.
There are more "Experts" talking the game up on Sky than actual fans in the ground, and we continue to let Sky run (ruin) our game.

I can stand the despair, It's the hope I can't bear.

RE: Monday Night Rugby
Not trying to derail your thread but your sig, "Foot up by the hooker, penalty. When was the last penalty given for that." reminded me that, last week, in the NRL, one game went through the entire first half without a single scrum.

I'm more annoyed that there are no Sat or Sun TV games.

RE: Monday Night Rugby
actually it shows what GIANTS fans think of monday night league. i havent seen the figures but im willing to wager u the figures for the last monday game were fine indeed. its not skys fault that fans wont go to games.

as it happens i was thinking that sky are willing to give up their monday night slot for premiership footy next time round... probably to ESPN, and are trying to find a replacement.

RE: Monday Night Rugby
I think you have to get as many games on TV as possible, even if it means giving some network a cheaper deal. We all thought TV would kill crowds out here but our 2 highest crowd years came after 20 years of having every game on TV - 6 of them live.

RE: Monday Night Rugby
England in the Euros IS an excuse though, something like that will inevitably have an effect on the attendance of the game.

Any game involving Hudds is highly unlikely to break any records for attendance either to be fair!

Your team is playing, you are a supporter, do you say sod it England are on TV in the Euro's, I will stay home and watch them.
Then you are not a committed fan, my team playing demands my support over any other sport, or am I wrong ?.or am I just from the old school.
Put the same question to any soccer supporter and you will get "my team are playing, nothing else matters",

It is possible to be a football fan and a rugby fan you know?

RE: Monday Night Rugby
I recon you can be a casual supporter of one or the other but your main sport would take prority when there was a clash. I agree with Gat a football fan would go no matter what day, time or place. no moaning from them about having to travel. The England game tonight was played in front a packed stadium. fair play to 'em I think their sport is boring as ffffuck but at least they are dedicated.
