wanes ability
people carry on to suggest or question the abilities of waney as a coach! yet we play a high number of lads that have come through the wigan system! all of which he has coached so has had an impact on them as players! he has been with them for in some cases mikey mac hansen lockers tomkins charnley goulding the list goes on through the most vital stages of there early careers, surely he gets some crdit there! add to that wigan where known as boring wigan last year this year top point scorers in the league! with the top try scorer!! all of which surly he picks up more credit for!! also the passion and pride he makes the players feel about playing for wigan shouldnt go un-noticed!! i think some people questioning him are un-fair in there douts!!

RE: wanes ability
i think to question a coach with zero experience in the game yes!! but this is a man short of winning nothing!! as a player!! coaches youth teams through unbeaten seasons!! various trophy success there!! then assistant to maguire!! (who did great things for wigan no doubt) but i think as apprentaships go he a served a good one

RE: wanes ability
The thing I like that he seems to have done at Wigan this season is create a team bond, and pride in the performance, that a lot of other sides would do well to emulate. Shaun Wane is a very passionate man who wants to win things, and he's Wigan through and through. Wigan are playing a brand of rugby that is leaving the rest flagging, and much of that is down the influence of Shaun Wane, you'll hear no bad comments from me, I think he's a great coach!

RE: wanes ability
He is certainly doing a good job at the moment but when it comes to the crunch in the CC and the playoffs will see if he can cut the mustard.

RE: wanes ability
basically the question thats is raised is how will he go on next year with out finch and timmy, as well as lima who adds a certain arrogance to the wigan pack!
i think is un fair to dout his ability when he has coached half a season at the top and he has a team playing a brand that in attack is exciting and efficiint!! turn round in D and they are ruthless!! add to it the passion that is mention surly there shouldnt be as much dout over him being able to sort it and sort it well!! |

RE: wanes ability
Early days, but i think Shaun Wane will turn out to be an outstanding coach for Wigan, and possibly for England on a part time basis in the future.
