Exiles name squad to face England
Exiles coach Daniel Anderson has named his 17 players to face England in Game Two of the 2012 International Origin Series at the Galpharm Stadium on Wednesday July 4, kick off 7.45pm.
There are five changes from the 13 which started the first match of the International Origin Series against Steve McNamara’s men at St Helens. Saints forward Anthony Laffranchi moves up from the bench to start this game and there are four new Exiles caps. In-form Salford City Reds pair Joel Moon and Daniel Holdsworth are in the starting line-up. While veteran forwards Heath L’Estrange of Bradford Bulls and Steve Menzies of Catalan Dragons also make their Exiles debuts. Two new caps are also included at interchange with Hull Kingston Rovers pair Lincoln Withers and Constantine Mika getting the nod. Brett Hodgson of Warrington Wolves, unluckily side-lined with a late injury for the first game is named as captain. Daniel Anderson said: “We have some different players with a different style this time. Some not as high profile, but players on the rise. Players like Con Mika and Lincoln Withers have been journeymen and talismanic figures in Super League, so it’s good for them to get a bit of recognition. “We have a couple of changes in the outside backs. Joel Moon comes in, which is good because we can move Sia Soliola back to the forwards which I think is his best position and we have a new stand-off in Dan Holdsworth and a new hooker in Heath L’Estrange. Brett Hodgson (Captain), Warrington Wolves Joel Monaghan, Warrington Wolves *Joel Moon, Salford City Reds Daryl Millard, Catalan Dragons Francis Meli, St Helens *Daniel Holdsworth, Salford City Reds Scott Dureau, Catalan Dragons Epalahame Lauaki, Wigan Warriors *Heath L’Estrange, Bradford Bulls Anthony Laffranchi, St Helens Willie Manu, Hull FC *Steve Menzies, Catalan Dragons Sia Soliola, St Helens Subs: Antonio Kaufusi, London Broncos Lincoln Withers, Hull Kingston Rovers Constantine Mika, Hull Kingston Rovers Kylie Leuluai, Leeds Rhinos *= uncapped by Exiles so far http://www.code13rugbyleague.com/2012/07...y-england/ |
