RE: Galea
Ben Galea confirmed at a fans do last month that he wants to go round again. The club will do what they think is best by the club. See what happens.

I said 2/3 months on this forum that big changes will occur and this could be the start.

RE: Galea
Galea has been a great servant for Rovers but ultimately there is no room for sentiment.
If the club can sign better , then that is what it must do.

RE: Galea
There are a few issues really.

If we extended his deal by a year, it really would be his last hurrah and a chance for us to congratulate him on a top career and thank him for everything he has done for our club.

As he is on the verge of retirement, he'll want the best deal possible and I hope that nobody would begrudge him that. If he can get that elsewhere then all the best to him.

The other issues are out of Ben Galea's hands - finances. We will not spend close to the cap next season. This means our budget will be much lower to keep costs down.

We are not getting the required crowds and this isn't helping. It seems everything is more expensive and the board can't continue to cover the shortfall.

We really are pulling everything in by the looks of it.

RE: Galea
It has to be done. You could argue we've overspent just to get to this joint. It's all about bringing these young kids through now.

RE: Galea
He'll be 34 this year so I'd let him go. Give him an assistant coach job for a year maybe, if you think he's a strong influence on the club. He must be realistic and know that he's won a GF with the Tigers and at 34, he won't be getting offers from the Pies or the Storm so he can retire knowing he's done a great job at KR.

RE: Galea
He really has done a good job. He is influential and everyone looks up to him. He is our captain and will bow out as such.
