Representative comp.
So a lot of people are left bewildered with the quality of the England vs Exiles concept and rightly so.
It was poorly advertised lacked competitiveness, and I think fans wanted a full blooded contest and instead got half of England b side and a lot of tired players. I think a better competition and concept would be one involving Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Exiles. It could be done over two weekends and drawn at random. One weekend could see let's say Yorkshire vs Cumbria and Lancashire vs Exiles with the winners meeting the following weekend or in a few weekends time after the first game. Hopefully this would be a competitive competition and could involve good sponsors. For English players outside the heartlands, they could represent the exiles. I think it could be a fantastic mini tournament and it could really showcase some of the talent produced in Cumbria aswel. I think the players need something to play for and they certainly didn't get that last night. I think they may need to scrap this England exiles thing pretty sharpish because unless the fans get passion and value for money they won't turn up. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk |

RE: Representative comp.
the problem with the whole concept is the "exiles" .
there cant be any allegiance to it and none can be developed. it doesnt have any depth. u could quite literally have a totally different 17 playing in consecutive years, who can even begin to identify with that?? if such a series has to be promoted it needs a deep tie for players, only one that has any merit is geographical.

RE: Representative comp.
Where would the warrington and st Helens lads play, seeing as they are Merseyside and cheshire? Scrap the exiles and play test matches instead?

Now now, Westy, just because I repeatedly refuse your sexual advances, there's no need to get nasty. If anything, that makes me LESS likely to sleep with you.

Re: Representative comp.
If we weren't to include exiles then maybe we could include a developing nation like France Wales or Ireland instead. Pushing it even a team like Somoa or Fiji.
I still think having an exiles would work though. I know they won't get any support but the exiles players last night showed more flair and passion than our lads. They'd just have to make sure an exiles vs Yorkshire game be played in Yorkshire and same for other counties to keep crowds up. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk |
