Craig Hall
Signs new 2 year deal!

CRAIG Hall has signed a new two-year deal at Hull KR – and admitted he almost left at the end of last season.

The 24-year-old had become disillusioned with life at the Robins after his first year in red and white.

But he says the change of coach, and the arrival of Craig Sandercock, gave him a new lease of life.

Now back to enjoying his rugby, he is delighted to extend his deal to the end of 2014.

Sandercock was quick to see the potential in Hall on his arrival and quickly showed faith in him when Blake Green was injured early in the campaign.

And Hall admits having his coach's backing was a big boost for his confidence.

"This year has been 100 per cent better than last season," Hall told the Mail.

"If someone had asked me at the end of the first season if I would be staying, I'd probably have said 'no'.

"I was playing a lot in the under-20s although I thought I had a lot more to give.

"I spoke to a couple of clubs about moving on, but then Craig came in and from day one we clicked.

"When Blake was out, I thought Scott Murrell may have been given a role there, but Craig showed faith in me to put me in a pivotal position.

"I tried my best there and I think I did okay in trying to lead the team around.

"It's okay doing that in the under-20s but when you do it for the first team, it's a big step up.

"I want to thank Craig for showing me that faith."

Now committed for the next two seasons, Hall is hoping to build on his solid season so far to find his best form as KR look to secure their place in the play-offs.

And with his partner expecting a new arrival to the family soon, he is delighted to remain in his home town.

"I'm glad I'm staying for another two years at least and perhaps even longer," he said.

"My fiance Kayleigh and I are having a baby in October so it's great we don't have to pack up and move.

"Both our families live here in Hull so everything has worked out for the best."

RE: Craig Hall
Another in good form this year, but maintaining it and building upon it is the challenge.

"'SUID'? Yes... That's what they used to call me. 'Saint Until I Die'. That was my name. I am The Swede. And I come back to you now at the turn of the tide."

RE: Craig Hall
He's turned into a really good player who shows flashes of brilliance... and the odd brainfart.

Really happy he has agreed to sign on again.

RE: Craig Hall
I've been impressed this year when i've watched him.

He's not too bad in attack and his utility value for KR is decent. I dont however rate his defence I'd like to see him a bit bulkier and a bit more aggressive in defence

RE: Craig Hall
I agree with T-Bone he does need to improve and he has needed to since he played for us (FC) but sandydick seems to be kind of helping him improve this and if he does I think it will be good for him to stay there.

RE: Craig Hall
Craig Sandercock said he is the most naturally gifted player at the club.
