Brown released with immediate effect
Huddersfield Giants Monday 16 Jul 2012 4:01pm
Huddersfield have announced they have released head coach Nathan Brown with immediate effect.
Brown has been released from his contract early and Paul Anderson has been appointed as his successor.
Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis told giantsrl.com that the decision was borne out of the last two months decline in form “Clearly all can see that we have not performed to a level that we are confident this squad is capable of."
The Giants had always intended for Anderson to take over from Brown at the end of the current season. However events over the last few months have led to the need to bring this change forward. Thewlis paid tribute to the enormous contribution that Nathan has made to the Giants in his three and a half years.
Huddersfield remain in a play off position in Super league and believe that the move today is in the best interest of all concerned and gives them the best opportunity to cement as high as position as possible in the run to the end of the season.
Nathan Brown commented: “I leave sorry that my time has ended earlier than probably anyone would have wished but I understand the clubs decision."
Brown praised his support staff, and the incoming coach, Paul Anderson, and wanted to wish them every success going forward.
