Powell: I want to win games
London Broncos Monday 9 Jul 2012 12:45pm
Broncos Head Coach Rob Powell has made it clear that it's not OK for London to keep losing games.
After his sides 44-12 defeat at Bradford on Sunday, Powell told the Broncos official website that his team were "out-enthused" and was concerned with the lack of energy from the start of the game. Powell also expressed his disappointment after not following up on the weeks training before the game.
"We were out-enthused and that is what disappoints me the most. We did not have the energy from the start of the game and that is a concern.
"We had a lot more reason to come out strongly than they did and we didn't. We are very disappointed that after everything we said and did in training this week, we came out and performed like that."
Powell also made it clear that he is in the coaching position to win games. Commenting on the perception that London Broncos don't need to win games, he says it matters to the club that they win games and he'll be working hard to make sure that happens.
"I want to win games and that is why I want to coach the team.
"There might be this perception that it does not matter to London but that is not the case. It is not in my nature to accept losing games and we will be working very hard to put that right over the coming weeks."
