Charnley favourite to score first for England v Exiles
Rugby League Friday 15 Jun 2012 9:58am
England debutant Josh Charnley has been named as favourite to open the scoring in Game One of this season’s International Origin Series between England and the Exiles when the sides meet at Langtree Park, St Helens on Saturday June 16 (6.45pm).
The Wigan winger has been in superb form this season, scoring 22 tries in just 17 Stobart Super League appearances, and has been priced at 8/1 by William Hill to score the game’s opening try.
Fellow England debutants Carl Ablett and Lee Mossop have been priced at 12/1 and 28/1 respectively to score the game’s opening try while Joel Monaghan 8/1, Francis Meli 9/1 and Daryl Millard 10/1 are seen as the most likely to open the scoring for the Exiles.
The Exiles have been priced as 4/6 favourites to record a win in the first of this year’s two game Origin Series, with England slight outsiders at 6/5.
William Hill are predicting a tight game however and have given England a two-point start on the handicap coupon.
Tickets for the opening fixture at Langtree Park, St Helens, on Saturday June 16 (6.45pm) cost from £18 (£9 concessions) for standing and £21 (£10 concessions) seating. Tickets for the all-seater second fixture at Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield, on Wednesday July 4 (7.45pm) cost from £21 (£10 concessions).
