Offiah wants extended International Origin Series
Rugby League Tuesday 19 Jun 2012 7:29pm
Former Wigan great Martin Offiah has called for an increase in the number of games played in the England V Exiles International Origin Series in the lead up to next years World Cup.
Offiah told the press today;
"I can't express how important this two-match series against the Exiles is in England's build-up to the World Cup," said Offiah. "Personally, I'd like to see another game added to the schedule because, if we want to do well next year, these matches are imperative.
"No disrespect to Wales and France but they are two developing nations, whereas the likes of Australia and New Zealand have been at the top level for many years. Without playing those sides in our build-up, we need the next best thing and I believe that is the Exiles"
We agree with Offiah's comments, two games seems a bit pointless, what if the Exiles win the next game? Do we get a decider for the trophy with the standings at one all? It's a three match series down under so why not here.
