Rugby League Wednesday 4 Jul 2012 3:56pm

Rugby League fans still have the chance to secure their seat and show their support for England at the Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield, tonight when they on take on the Exiles in the final game of the International Origin Series (7.45).

Tickets for the deciding fixture are available from the stadium ticket office right up until kick off when the cream of Antipodean talent from Super League will set out to avenge an 18-10 defeat by England at Langtree Park, St Helens, last month.

England know that anything less than victory tonight will prevent them from avenging last season’s Origin defeat and England coach Steve McNamara has called on a host of new stars, including an exciting half-back pairing of Matty Smith and Danny Brough, who willl be keen to impress on his home pitch, to help deliver the result and continue preparations towards Rugby League World Cup 2013.

The Exiles go into tonight’s game equally determined to retain the trophy they won 12 months ago and coach Daniel Anderson has been able to draw on the experience of players such as Brett Hodgson and Michael Dobson to help ensure England’s charge towards the trophy comes to a halt.

With both sides playing for silverware and glory, the intensity levels are set to be greater than ever before and that means fans can expect to see a fast-paced, high-impact contest played out in front of them.

“The Origin series has given England the perfect test that Steve McNamara wants for his players and the perfect preparation as we continue to build towards the World Cup,” said RFL Director of Communications Niel Wood.

“The first game between the sides last month replicated the intensity levels we’ve seen in recent Four Nations tournaments and with a trophy to play for tonight, I’m sure the levels will only increase as both sides will be desperate to win. England need to get the win or a draw to secure the trophy and the Exiles need to win to square the series and therefore to retain the title, it really is winner takes all.

“Both teams are confident and with the conditions likely to lead to more open and flowing rugby than we saw at St Helens, I’m sure the fans will see a fantastic Rugby League spectacle unfold.”

Tickets for the International Origin Series Game 2 fixture between England and the Exiles cost from £21 (£10 concessions) and can be purchased from the Galpharm Stadium ticket office.
