McPherson To Miss Rest Of Season

Salford City Reds have confirmed that powerful Aussie prop Shannan McPherson will miss the remainder of the season after tearinghis medial collatoral ligament on Friday night against St Helens.

McPherson was carried off with 15 minutes to go and underwent a scan on Monday

Reds' lead physio Matt Jenkinson told reds.co.uk: "Shannan has a significant MCL tear and is out for the season but no surgery is required which is good news.

"It's very disappointing for all involved but he will be back with no long-term problems next season."

McPherson's absence will be a blow for Head Coach Phil Veivers ahead of Friday night's clash with Warrington Wolves.
