Kyle Eastmond Union gets closer
We posted last week that Warrington Wolves are set to offer St Helens star Kyle Eastmond a deal to stay in Super League Rugby.
But links to a potential Rugby Union move appear to be getting stronger with recent news of Aviva Premiership outfit Sale also stating their interest.
Bath held talks with St Helens scrum-half Kyle Eastmond in December about a potential switch from Rugby League to Rugby Union.
Now Sale are the latest rugby union club to show an interest in signing Eastmond. Sale head coach Pete Anglesea admits that he is interested in bringing Eastmond to Edgeley Park.
"Kyle Eastmond's name had been floating around. He's an option we would look at, though there's a strong rumour he's going to Bath," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"Kyle's an awesome player and has been fantastic for St Helens and we would be foolish not to have a look at him and see whether he fits into our mould."
According to his former coach at St Helens, via mirror.co.uk, Mick Potter says Eastmond can "have it easy" if he swaps codes.
Bradford boss Potter said:
"I would love to see Kyle stay in rugby league. But if he wants to do it easy and double his money that's his call."
So its 2-1 to Rugby Union for now - Lets hope he makes the right choice and stays with Super League Rugby for a few more years, he can always move to Rugby Union at a later stage if he wants to cash in.
