Mullally joins Whitehaven on loan deal
Widnes Vikings Friday 8 Jun 2012 3:04pm
Vikings prop forward Anthony Mullally has today joined Whitehaven on a loan deal for the remainder of the 2012 Co-operative Championship One season.
20 year-old Mullally has made 9 substitute appearances for the Vikings thus far in 2012, and if selected by Head Coach Don Gailer, is set to have an immediate opportunity to impress for his new team who face South Wales Scorpions at the Recreation Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Vikings Director of Rugby, Paul Cullen said; "The loan process is a system that benefits both parties. Whitehaven's squad will be boosted by the arrival of a quality player, while Anthony will gain valuable experience playing week in week out in a tough environment. Having seen his opportunities limited in recent times, this will certainly aid his development as a player."
Whitehaven Chief Executive, Barry Richardson added; "We are extremely grateful to Widnes Vikings Rugby League Club and Paul Cullen for allowing Anthony to join us for the remainder of the season. Having seen him play and received so many good reports about him, we are absolutely delighted to capture the services of such a quality player and are hopeful his introduction will give us a huge push in our bid for promotion this year."
